Tomb Raider: Underworld (2008) PC

Tomb Raider: Underworld is the ninth part of the adventures of the charming tomb raider. Moreover, this is the second real action, where more attention is paid to the plot, gameplay and game design than to the charms of the main character. The whole plot is based on Scandinavian myths.

Back to the future

The story in the game is a favorite of screenwriters. Lara returns to the family estate, where her own assistant tries to kill her, turning the house into ashes.

Further events throw us six months ago, when the heroine got to the Mediterranean to find the underground kingdom, as it is represented by the legends of the local peoples. Barely surviving, the girl returns to the burned house and finds secret documents under the crypt. Here begin more dangerous adventures and travels around the world:

• Mexico, where there are more abandoned cities than existing ones;
• Thailand, where the heroine will see the world's largest temple Angkor Wat;
• Norway – it is necessary to find Valhalla;
• Arctic – here is the entrance to the world of the dead;
• Himalayas – visit the crash site of little Croft and her mother.

The visual part

The Underworld locations are made conscientiously. They are huge, open and full of everything you can interact with in one way or another. It is unrealistic to get lost in large spaces – there will always be a non-killable PDA with maps, tasks and other related information at hand.

The highly polygonal world looks very lively: the girl will come out of the water wet, but over time the traces of moisture will disappear, footprints remain in the mud, trees look like themselves ... It didn't work out very well with water, but spearfishing didn't get any worse from this.

The girl remained in a cartoon image, and camera views sometimes only do what they demonstrate her unreal charms. In the ninth part, Lara learned how to interact with the world:
