Anachronox (2001) PC

Anachronox is a third–person role-playing video game released by Tom Hall and Dallas Ion Storm Studio in June 2001 for Microsoft Windows.

Plot

The story takes place on the small planet Anachronox, floating inside a huge artificial sphere known as Sender One. On artificial tectonic plates, there are particles of futuristic cities that are constantly shifting to connect different parts of the planet. Residents believe that sick aliens were placed in the quarantine zone a few years ago, which led to the name Anachronox. The northern part of the world has high-end technologies of the future, while the south is drowning in violence and destruction. Humanity travels to different planets from Sender One, which was the center of the transport system and allowed to travel at the speed of light. Incoming and outgoing traffic stops at the Sender Station, an orbital structure above Sender One with hotels and red-colored neighborhoods.

Civilizations do business using a currency such as a one–dollar coin, while some people collect MysTech - marked rock fragments. They are considered the strongest weapons or works of art created by an extinct alien race. All weapons created with the help of these fragments:

1. A blaster rifle.
2. Melee weapons.
3. A gun that shoots "light".

Gameplay

Anachronox is a turn–based game similar in genre to many Japanese games, such as Final Fantasy. The player controls a party of up to three characters as they explore the three-dimensional environment of futuristic cities, spaceships and outdoor areas. You can swap places with the rest of the team, talk to other characters (NPCs), collect and buy equipment and items.
