PayDay 2: Game of the Year Edition [v 1.66.1] (2013) PC

PayDay 2 is a unique case for the industry, when the series not only grows, but conceptually ends before your eyes. The original PayDay in every second was, first of all, a shooter about robberies. PayDay 2 is a full–fledged robbery simulator with shooter elements. This is a project that the authors dreamed of initially.

First of all, I would like to say that PayDay 2 is an extremely stylish game. Being a robbery simulator, this project has accumulated so many cinematic references that if you ever dreamed of becoming an actor, this game will help you perfectly associate yourself with a bandit from major blockbusters. Respawn studio reads this moment perfectly. The characters here get code names by color (hello, Tarantino!), speak cinematic language, and certainly wear a three-piece suit and a psychedelic mask. Here, of course, there is a scene from the "Fight", there is the character John Wick and there is a complete feeling that it's all like in the movies.

And yes, you, of course, choose the appearance and weapons yourself.

The magic of PayDay 2 is that all the "cinematic" of what is happening is directed directly by you and your team (a cooperative of up to 4 people). You can go through each mission ahead: fall into the bank and, under the sounds of a siren, have time to pull out money and shoot back from the cops. But you can do it in a tricky way. Go into the bank under the guise of civilians, inspect the premises, see the weak points and the location of the cameras, and come up with the perfect capture plan. You can cut off the cameras and bombard the area with soporific grenades. You can, in general, almost everything - the main thing is to have the right team.

Role models

Robbers are divided into several types. Someone is a master lock picker, someone is a master of technology, and someone, for example, is the best at fighting. It is difficult to find a good balance, simply because each mission can end in different ways, and there is no perfect recipe here.  And this also shows the greatness of the PayDay 2 concept – this game is not repeated. You won't be able to find some perfect way of passing. Your actions depend not even on the mission, but on the situation at this particular second.

If you repeat the passage, the right key may end up with another guard, the right password will be recorded on another computer, and the right NPC will be delayed for a couple of minutes – and your tactics will break under the influence of the smallest circumstances. The developers are also honored by the fact that neither Rockstar ("robberies" in GTA V) nor Dice (Battlefield: Hardline) could implement such mechanics after PayDay. Their projects turned out to be, in fact, the simplest tracing paper, where the shooter seriously prevails over tactics.
