Eador: Lords of the Worlds / Eador: Masters of the Broken World [v. 1.6.3] (2013) PC | RePack by R.G. Mechanics
Eador: The Lords of the Worlds is a rare example of "one man decision" today, when all decisions in the production of the game are made by one person. In this case, this person turned out to be Alexey Bokulev, a well–known Russian developer who has already made more than one strategy game as part of various large studios, but all this time he dreamed of his own "Eador". That's why he hired artists and programmers, and did everything the way he wanted.
The Lord of the Cosmos
The plot of Eador: The Lords of the Worlds, it would seem, is banal. In a galaxy far, far away, a cataclysm occurred, which caused pieces of the once united world to be scattered across the astral. For each of the astral immediately began a war between the "Lords" - influential heroes who want to conquer new lands. That's where the game starts.
The banal plot was actually needed in order to put the conflict at the center of the story. 16 fragments scattered around the astral have their own unique properties, and therefore each of the Lords has his own interests, which he is ready to defend until death. In such conditions, diplomacy comes first. We, being the Lord ourselves, can negotiate with others, declare alliances, alliances and wars, trade and plan a joint future. All this seriously affects the development of the story – the very presentation of the plot will change from the path of development you choose.
Heroes of magic, magic and magic
The gameplay of Eador: Lords of the Worlds is divided into several parts:
- Wandering through the maps.
- The seizure of land and the increase of their own influence on the territory.
- Tactical battles.
- Economic development.
Each of these elements here is created much deeper than the players are used to. For example, banal exploration here is accompanied by the discovery of some unreal spaces. When we get to the "shard", we discover a unique world with our own add-ons. Local aborigines behave completely differently than everyone you knew before, and therefore require special treatment. Here we turn to the second element – the diplomatic one. Depending on the behavior of the local "Lord", we can build relationships with the "locals". If they are intimidated, we will appease them, if they are poor, we will make money, and all that sort of thing. In response to this, the influence of your person will seriously rise – and at the moment when the local Ruler realizes that you are wielding with might and main on his fragment, his authority may well be undermined.
Which, in turn, affects the third element – fighting. Tactical battles in the game, although drawn very conditionally, are perfectly understood at the level of basic logic. So, for example, instead of your army, your figure is shown. The strength of the army is proportional to the size of the figure. It is important that your abilities depend on where you stand. We went into the woods – the units have increased evasion skills, went into the sands – and your army is seriously slowed down. The landscape, morale, level of development and chemistry within the team are often more important than your tactical skill.
Economy is the last and main feature of the gameplay. For the sake of increasing our own prosperity, we travel through the fragments. For the same reason, we destroy other Lords. In general, the economic development in Eador: Lords of the Worlds is similar to what we saw in "Heroes" or Disciples. We find important objects on the map, capture them, carry out logistics – and enjoy collecting resources.

Eador: The Lords of the Worlds is an extremely unusual game. An industrial art house that Bokulev made for himself. Fans of complex wargames will definitely like it, but others may not be able to m
