American Arcadia

American Arcadia is a promising puzzle platformer from a small indie studio that boasts an unconventional approach to gameplay and a great atmosphere and setting.

Overview

The events unfold in a retro-futuristic world. It is very much reminiscent of the America of the 1970s. The storyline revolves around a popular reality show called American Arcadia, which broadcasts dangerous situations from the life of the population of the eponymous metropolis. The life of each person here is broadcast on the screen and it depends on how much the viewer is interested in watching his fate. If the ratings fall, then it is likely that the next hero of the reality show will die.

The main character is an ordinary office clerk Trevor, whose ratings just started to fall rapidly. He perfectly understands that very soon a sad end awaits him. However, Angela - one of the leading technicians who works on the reality show - intervenes in the game. She doesn't want Trevor to die and decides to change the rules of the game for him.

Gameplay

American Arcadia is a small but very ambitious project that attracts with a beautifully constructed setting that subverts many problems of modern society, including the impact of technology and the internet on it.

However, these are far from the only interesting features that will attract the attention of gamers. The platformer also boasts the following:

1. Two playable characters and gameplay for each of them is radically different.
2. When playing as Travor, the project is a classic 2.5D-platformer.
3. But enjoying the process of passing for Angela everything happens from the first person and revolves around solving puzzles.
4. Original presentation of the story and a lot of non-standard characters and situations.
5. Beautiful cartoon picture with excellent detail and relatively low system requirements.
