One of the main innovations is the appearance of the second playable protagonist. It becomes a young female FBI agent - Saga Andersen. For her users need to go to the very town of Bright Falls, where several ritual murders take place. The game for Saga is a detective story, in which gamers will need to look for clues, interview people, search crime scenes. Much more rarely, Saga will engage in battles with otherworldly entities from the Dark Abode.

Gameplay

Alan Wake 2 differs a lot from the original in some places - the video game becomes darker and stops being a corridor shooter. Now in front of the users is really a horror with elements of survival simulator with high enough complexity.

1. Incredibly beautiful location design - this applies both to the huge gloomy New York and provincial "one-storey" Bright Falls.
2. There are fewer shooter elements, but the enemies are much stronger than in the previous part.
3. Added elements of detective adventure in the campaign for Saga.
4. The gamer has an opportunity to switch between campaigns, which take place in different dimensions, at any moment.
5. Very beautiful and realistic cut-scenes - they were recorded using motion capture technology.
6. The heroes will still have a very limited arsenal of weapons and means to kill enemies - the main ones are a torch and a gun.
7. To weaken the enemy as before, you need to use light and not only torch - the surrounding world comes to the rescue.
