Grand Tactician: The Civil War (1861-1865) is devoted exclusively to combat operations and there are no mechanics of the development of factions and economy in it. All attention is focused on the key historical battles, which are transmitted with amazing accuracy.

The gameplay of battles is very similar to Total War, only it requires even deeper knowledge of tactics and strategy, which makes the video game not the easiest to master.

Gameplay

The key gameplay features of the strategic video game Grand Tactician: The CivilWar (1861-1865) are:

1. Large locations that are copied from real terrain and as close as possible to the landscape and architecture of the 19th century.
2. There are two full-fledged single-player campaigns for each of the factions.
3. All the battles that are displayed in the video game took place in reality.
4. A wide variety of units that can be controlled on the battlefield – several types of infantry, cavalry and artillery are available.
5. In addition to ordinary fighters, the most famous commanders of that time, including William Sherman, Willis Grant, Robert Lee, Jefferson Davis and others, also fall under the control of users.
