Plot

Edward Pierce goes to the island of Darkwater, which is located near the city of Boston. The family of the artist Sarah Hawkings lived here. Most recently, Sarah committed suicide, but the heroine's family wants to know more details about her death.

At first, war veteran and experienced detective Edward Pierce does not take the case seriously, considering it obvious. However, a few days of research changed his mind. The hero understands that powerful ancient forces are involved in suicide, which have been sleeping for thousands of years and have now awakened from sleep.

Pierce finds information about a cult that worships a powerful sea monster – Cthulhu, which is able to control a person's mind.
