Tokyo 42 is a two-button shooter with a stylish world that will really steal your attention. A miniature isometric world draws a futuristic view of modern Tokyo.
This shooter is unlike your everyday open-world game, and in addition to its unique artistic style, it manages to introduce a unique two-stick mechanic.

Plot

In Tokyo, 42 players are thrown into the underworld after the main character is framed for a murder he did not commit. When your name is smeared and doesn't run anywhere, you will soon find yourself hiding from scammers and making your way into the underworld to clear your name.
However, soon after receiving attention for your actions, you are quickly drawn into a darker conspiracy. One of the most interesting aspects of its narrative component is the anonymity of the main character, about whom you will learn almost nothing throughout the game.
Conversations with the player are completely one-sided, and few people learn about the player through other characters.

Gameplay

It's hard not to get carried away with the aesthetics of geometric landscapes, it's like nothing else, with an elegant and stylish adaptation of the busy streets of Japan.
It's rare that the game world can be so enticing, but what was created here is a great example of a video game as a form of visual art.
The whole game enchants the stereotypical attractive and technological features of modern Tokyo wrapped in a sleek and futuristic performance.
