Half-Life 2: Episode One (2006) PC

Half-Life 2: Episode One is a continuation of the storyline of the shooter Half-Life 2. As always, the taciturn Gordon Freeman, along with talkative partner Alix Vance, will be engaged in saving the inhabitants of City 17. Despite the rather short gameplay and the lack of significant innovations, the game received several awards as the best action game of 2006.

Turn back the clock

Destroying the dark energy reactor in the Citadel, Gordon Freeman did not think that the alien tower would collapse and the blast wave would cover the entire city. But alien creatures, called worthingonts, rewind time, allowing the hero to get out of the explosion site himself and try to evacuate the residents of City 17. With a deadly explosion about to take place, Gordon and his partner Alix make their way through the crumbling corridors of the Citadel to the reactor core to try to prevent a catastrophe.

Partner

The gameplay is tied to the interaction of the protagonist with Alix. Thanks to the improved artificial intelligence , the companion can:

• adequately comment on the actions of the hero;
• give hints about solving game problems;
• fight hand-to-hand and shoot accurately.

Weapon

Compared to Half-Life 2, Freeman's arsenal has remained virtually the same. Firearms due to limited ammunition are not held in high esteem here, because most of the time the main character will wield a modified gravity cannon. With its help, obstacles are eliminated, opponents are destroyed, entrances to the burrows of ant lions are blocked.

Enemies

In addition to headcrabs and ant lions, other opponents will be waiting for the couple in the bowels of the Citadel and on the streets of the city:
