"Age of Mythology" is a strategy game with Ancient Greek, Egyptian and Scandinavian mythological plots, as well as drawing some ideas from other popular series.

Plot

The events take place on the now-defunct continent of Atlantis. The main character, Admiral Arcant, protects the country from pirate attacks, and then begins to pursue them, which smoothly transfers events to Troy and the war for this city. After taking the fortress, the hero, along with Ajax, goes to Greece, but after seeing the devastated villages, decides to help the injured people. The path leads the saviors to the underworld.

In addition to the characters-gods and having a human likeness, Arcant meets, fights, communicates with mythological mutants:

1. A centaur.
2. Cyclops.
3. Snow giants.

His adventures were felt in the southern part of Europe, north Africa and the Scandinavian countries.

Features

"The Age of Mythologies" has become quite a popular game, as evidenced by numerous additions (including official ones), as well as a variety of spin-offs.

She was remembered, first of all, by the fact that during the period of her release (2002) she managed to embody and combine many interesting ideas:

1. Living creatures from the mythologies of different peoples in one place.
2. Four different eras, requiring the main character to transfer certain resources in the form of a fee, but giving new combat units.
3. The three warring races each have three main gods and nine minor ones. The main ones – you can choose yourself, which allows you to improve the units.
4. Four types of resources are used: blessing and three standard ones (wood, gold and food).
